Eight receive a Pride in Workmanship
Tuakau Rotary's very first Pride in Workmanship Award
ceremony went off without a hitch on last Tuesday night. Eight people received
an award plaque as well as raving reviews from their employers. Going above and
beyond the call of duty, arriving before the boss gets in, always courteous and
smiling, taking care of whatever needs doing most urgently, even if it isn't
really their job to do it, where some of the accolades bestowed on the six
winners. The award winners, all women, reflected a wide range of businesses in
the region from the Tuakau Hotel to local schools, a catering company and a
The idea behind the awards is to encourage good employers-employee relationships and give employers and opportunity to publicly acknowledge excellent staff, said Rotary President Richard Gee.
The award ceremony, attended by nominees, their employers, family/whanau and friends, was followed by a celebratory dinner at the Tuakau Hotel.

School, Shelby White cashier at the Tuakau Hotel, Elizabeth van Rensburg from Eden Christian Academy, Kathryn Garthwaite from Tuakau College, Stacey Tuhi from Country Cuisine Catering, Karen Thompson from Meremere School, Donna Hair from Anita’s Flower Gift, Amanda Spencer,from Waikato District Council's Tuakau office.
